The present work aims to revise the Brazil nut family (Lecythidaceae) in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam based on literature, herbarium collections from major relevant herbaria such as BCU, BK, BKF, BM, BO, CMU, CMUB, E, HN, HNL, HNU, K, KEP, KKU, L, PSU, QBG, SING and TCD, as well as a field survey particularly in Thailand. Three genera and 20 species are recorded including 16 species of Barringtonia J.R. Forst. & G. Forst. and two species each of Careya Roxb. and Planchonia Blume. Among these, three taxa of Barringtonia from Thailand and Vietnam are expected to be new species.
