Tropical and subtropical Asia to the Pacific are usually considered to host about 7.000 orchid species (850 genera). The Cambodian orchids were mainly studied by Gagnepain and Guillaumin in the "Flore Générale de l'Indo-Chine (vol. VI, fasc. 2–5 ", 1932–1934). Since 2003, through new fieldwork, plant collects and the opening of RUPP's National Herbarium of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, Botanical studies of Orchidaceae start again within the framework of scientific missions of botanists from Paris, Phnom Penh, Kew and Edinburgh.

In Cambodia, the number of orchid species is approximately 360 according to the Kew database. By including our collects and recent identifications and descriptions from flowering specimens cultivated in greenhouses, this number now approaches 500 species, among which many are documented online ("orchidcambodia" ; http: // kesorkol.com).

The new botanical explorations in various areas: Kampong Speu (Mt. Aural, ...), Koh Kong (Mt. Cardamom), Pursat, Siem Reap (Phnom Koulen), Preah Vihear, Kampot (Mt. Bokor) , Ratanakiri, Kompong (Koh Ker), Krong Preah Sihanouk (Koh Rong, Koh Rong Sanloem and Koh Puos), allowed to find and describe new taxa, until now not yet listed in the country or even new for the science.

This poster presents updated Checklist of Cambodian orchids, according to various criteria: number of taxa by genera, frequency, conservation and protection status, pictures of plants and floral parts (in situ or/and in greenhouses), analytical drawings and pictures of specific floral microstructure.
